Rural Retreat… review

Be prepared to navigate some single lane roads as you approach Bowland Esapes, a few blind corners but if everyone drives with caution there shouldn’t be any problems. Bowland Escape is a remote location, very tranquil & if you can’t relax while you’re there you never will. We chose a lodge with a hot tub & it was perfect for our needs. Open plan kitchen/dining/lounge was very spacious as were the bedrooms & bathrooms. The lodge was clean & provided with plenty facilities, including a welcome pack. The Wild Boar Park is on your doorstep, walking distance from the lodge, we enjoyed a couple of hours there with our six year old grandson feeding the animals. The park wasn’t open to the public that day but as residents we were given permission to enter. We didn’t explore the area very much as the rain was relentless that week. We did go to the Farm Shop in Chipping, a lovely village, had a bacon & sausage bap, all local produce, very tasty.

All the staff were very friendly & welcoming.
